Booking a trip

When will FoxConnect operate?

The service will operate from Monday to Saturday between 06:00 and 19:30. The service will not operate on public or bank holidays. The first journey pick-up will start no earlier than 06:00 and the final journey drop-off will end no later than 19:30.

How long do I have to wait after I’ve booked my FoxConnect journey?

We recommend booking the FoxConnect service a day in advance for journeys which need an assured arrival time. For on the day travel, please allow 45 minutes before departure – subject to vehicle availability, this time may be reduced. Journeys can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

Can I book a favourite location?

Yes, your favourite locations can be saved for ease of booking.

Can I change my booking details?

Once a booking is confirmed it is scheduled on to a vehicles timetable. This means bookings cannot be altered to change pick-up or drop-off locations. If you need to change any details then the booking must be cancelled and rebooked. Any request to drivers while onboard the vehicle will be declined.

I’m not near a bus stop. Can I still use FoxConnect?

Yes. Where possible physical bus stops will be used. However, other pick up points will also be used.

What is a meeting point?

A meeting point is like a virtual bus stop and may be a short walk from where you want to be picked up, usually just a few minutes away. This may be a common meeting point for multiple pick-ups in busy areas, so there may be others at the same meeting point.

How will I know if my journey has been accepted?

Journeys will be confirmed via email and a text message can be configured to send booking reminders and to notify when the driver is on their way / at the pick-up point.

Pricing

How much will a journey cost?

The cost of an adult single journey will be £2, and £1.75 for children (children are persons between 5-15 years of age). Children under the age of 5 shall be carried free of charge provided they do not occupy a seat to the exclusion of a fare paying passenger and a fare paying passenger accompanies them.

English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes are also accepted for travel after 09:30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday or public holidays where the service operates.

How do I pay?

Cash payments on the bus are not allowed or accepted. You will be able to pay securely by debit or credit card within the FoxConnect app or when booking by telephone. Payment cannot be made on the bus or with cash.

Can I cancel a journey?

A booking may be cancelled a minimum of two hours before the scheduled pick-up time and receive a full refund. Bookings cancelled with less than two hours notice will be recorded as a 'late cancellation’ and a refund will not be available.

What happens if I no-show for my ride?

Not showing up for your ride at the time allocated will delay the ride for other passengers and may mean they get to their destination late. We understand circumstances can change, so we offer free cancellations up to 2 hours before the allocated pick-up time. Passengers who do not show up or are late will be charged in full. Frequent late cancellations or not showing up for bookings may result in your account being suspended.
